Music box from Peru (via Japan): Leddy Saenz

Leddy shares the story behind a music box she has held onto for more than 30 years. A gift from her uncle, it is a symbol of his presence in her life as a father figure and someone who had an amazing zest for life.

Leddy Saenz  is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans wearables, sculpture and installation. Rooted in the textiles, patterns and symbols of ancient Peru, her work abstracts these inherited forms and places them in new contexts, where memory and the present meet.
